Description:
In this study the effects of dietary fig and rosemary extractsupplementation on growth performance, feed utilization, biometric indexes andsome blood parameters in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchusmykiss) were investigated. Two experimental diets were supplementedwith medicinal herb extracts at 0,5,1,2 g/kg. The fish were fed 60 days oftrial diet. The addition of fig extractand rosemary extract did not have a positive effect on development and feedintake. In addition, the addition of figextract and rosemary extract did not cause a change in the number of red bloodcell count, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscularhemoglobin and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (P>0.05). However, theaddition of fig extract and rosemary extract to the feed increased the spleensomatic index, while decreasing viscerosomatic index and hepatosomatic index(P<0.05).
