The purpose of this study is to investigate amounts of geothermal water absorption, geothermochemical retention and swelling in radial and tangential directions in İzmir-Doğanbey geothermal fields-treated woods. Samples of pine sapwood (Pinus brutia Ten.), low-temperature geothermal resource waters, hot-cold open tank method and distilled water were used for experiments. Impregnating procedures were carried out in geothermal field in normal weather conditions. Tests were conducted in laboratory conditions. As a result, these waters could a potential wood protection fluid that will be used for wood impregnation according to hot-cold open tank method. For pine wood treated with these waters, the absorption, retention, swelling in radial and tangential directions were founded between 0,40 to 0,53 g/cm3, 0,10 to 0,31%, 5,04 to 5,30% and 7,23 to 7,24%, respectively. Type of geothermal resource affected significantly absorption and retention statistically (p≤0,05), but did not affect swelling. Despite no significant difference between geothermal fluids in terms of impacts, when geothermal water-treated wood samples were compared with distilled water-treated wood samples, the swelling decreased 18,25% and 8,02% in radial and tangential directions, respectively. Çalışmada, İzmir-Doğanbey kaplıca alanındaki jeotermal sular ile emprenyeli ağaç malzemede jeotermal su absorpsiyonu, jeotermokimyasal retensiyonu, radyal ve teğet yönlerde genişleme miktarları araştırılmıştır. Deneylerde kızılçam diri odun örnekleri (Pinus brutia Ten.), düşük sıcaklıklı jeotermal kaynak suları, sıcak-soğuk açık tank metodu ve saf su kullanılmıştır. Emprenye işlemleri, jeotermal alanda normal hava şartlarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Testler laboratuvar koşullarında yapılmıştır. Sonuçta, bu jeotermal sular, sıcak-soğuk açık tank yöntemine göre, ahşap koruma işlerinde kullanılabilecek potansiyel bir emprenye akışkanı olabilir. Bu sularla emprenyeli kızılçam odunu için, absorpsiyon 0,40g/cm3–0,53g/cm3 ve retensiyon %0,10–%0,31 arasında değişirken; genişleme miktarı ise, radyal yönde %5,04–%5,30 ve teğet yönde %7,23–%7,24 arasında değişmiştir. Jeotermal kaynak türünün absorpsiyon ve retensiyon üzerine etkisi önemli çıkarken (p≤0,05); genişleme üzerine etkisi önemsiz çıkmıştır. Etkileri bakımından jeotermal kaynaklar arasında önemli bir farklılık yoktur. Jeotermal emprenye işlemi, saf su ile işlem görmüş oduna nazaran, maksimum genişlemeyi, radyal yönde %18,25 ve teğet yönde %8,02 azaltmıştır.
